Getting Started
What can I track with Countrol? ▼
Countrol lets you track three types of consumption: alcohol (drinks), smoking (cigarettes, vaping, tobacco), and drugs (substance use). You choose which substances to track during onboarding, and you can change this anytime in Settings.
What platforms is Countrol available on? ▼
Countrol is available on both iOS (iPhone) and Android. Both versions offer the same core experience: consumption tracking, insights and charts, health benefits, clean streaks, and spending analysis.
How do I log a consumption? ▼
Go to the Today tab and tap the + button for the substance you want to log. Your entry is saved instantly. Rapid taps within 10 seconds are grouped into a single entry with increased quantity — so three quick taps logs 3 drinks, not three separate entries.
Can I edit or delete a past entry? ▼
Yes. Go to the History tab to view all your past entries. You can swipe to delete any entry. Editing a specific quantity or time can be done by deleting and re-logging.
Tracking & Insights
How do I see my progress? ▼
The Insights tab shows detailed charts and statistics about your consumption over time. Charts unlock progressively as you accumulate data (after 3, 7, and 15 days of tracking). The Benefits tab shows real health milestones tied to your clean streaks.
What is a clean streak? ▼
A clean streak counts consecutive days with zero consumption for a given substance. The app tracks your current streak, your personal best, and your overall clean day percentage. Health benefits in the Benefits tab are calculated based on how long you've been clean.
How does money tracking work? ▼
If you enable money tracking during onboarding (or in Settings), you can set a price per unit for each substance. The app then calculates how much you've spent over any time period. Supports 20+ currencies.
Does the app have a widget? ▼
iOS Yes — Countrol includes a home screen widget that shows your daily consumption at a glance. Long-press your home screen, tap Edit Home Screen, then tap + to add the Countrol widget.
Android A home screen widget is not currently available on Android.
Data & Privacy
Is my data private? ▼
Absolutely. All data is stored locally on your device. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We never collect or share your consumption data. Read our
Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I sync my data across devices? ▼
iOS Yes. Enable iCloud Sync in Settings to keep your data in sync across all your Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
Android Cloud sync is not yet available on Android. Your data is stored locally on your device.
Can I transfer data between iOS and Android? ▼
Data transfer between iOS and Android is not currently supported. Each platform stores data independently.
How do I delete all my data? ▼
Go to Settings and tap Reset All Data. This will permanently delete all your consumption history and preferences and restart the app from scratch. You can also delete individual entries from the History tab. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
iOS If iCloud sync is enabled, also go to your device's Settings › [Your name] › iCloud to remove iCloud data.
Customization
Can I change the app language? ▼
Yes. Countrol supports English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
iOS Go to Settings and tap Language to switch directly within the app.
Android Go to Settings and tap Language to choose your preferred language, independent of your system language.
Can I customize the app appearance? ▼
Yes. You can customize the color for each tracked substance in Settings › Colors.
iOS With Countrol+, you can also change the app icon from a selection of premium icons.
Can I set daily reminders? ▼
Yes. Go to Settings and enable Notifications to receive a daily reminder to log your consumption. You can set the reminder time. Notifications are handled locally on your device — no data leaves your device.
Countrol+
What is Countrol+? ▼
Countrol+ is an optional premium subscription that supports ongoing development of the app. It unlocks exclusive features like custom app icons iOS. The core tracking features — logging, insights, streaks, and health benefits — are always free.
How do I subscribe to Countrol+? ▼
Go to Settings › Countrol+ to view subscription options. You can subscribe monthly or purchase lifetime access. Payment is processed through your App Store or Google Play account.
How do I restore my purchase? ▼
Go to Settings › Countrol+ and tap Restore Purchases.
iOS Your subscription will be restored through your Apple ID.
Android Your subscription will be restored through your Google Play account.
Make sure you're signed into the same account used for the original purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription? ▼
iOS Go to Settings › [Your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone and cancel from there.
Android Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions and cancel Countrol+.
