Overview

Countrol ("we", "our", or "the app") is a wellness tracking application available on iOS and Android that helps you monitor and reduce your consumption of alcohol, smoking, and drugs. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app on any platform.

Data Stored on Your Device

Countrol stores the following data locally on your device only:

Consumption entries: Your tracking logs for alcohol, smoking, and drugs. On iOS, stored using SwiftData. On Android, stored in a local Room database.
App preferences: Language, selected substances, custom colors, notification settings, currency, and other settings.
Onboarding choices: Your initial setup selections (substances tracked, spending preferences).

None of this data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party. We do not operate any backend servers.

What We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, the following data is never collected by Countrol:

Name, email address, or any personal identifiers
Location data (GPS or IP-based)
Device identifiers (IDFA, Android Advertising ID, or similar)
Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to us
Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
Health or biometric data
Financial or payment information
Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data

iCloud Sync iOS

If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your consumption data is synced across your Apple devices using your personal iCloud account. This sync is handled entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never access your iCloud data.

In-App Purchases

Countrol offers an optional Countrol+ subscription. All payment processing is handled by the respective app store platform:

iOS App Store

Purchases managed via Apple StoreKit. All transaction data is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Android Google Play

Purchases managed via Google Play Billing. All transaction data is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not receive or store your payment details.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device using the platform's native notification system (iOS UNUserNotificationCenter / Android AlarmManager). No notification data is sent to any external server.

App Store & Google Play Data Safety

Countrol's App Store privacy label and Google Play Data Safety declaration both reflect a "No data collected" stance — no data is collected from users or transmitted off-device by our app.

Data used to track you: None
Data shared with third parties: None (except what Apple/Google collect independently through their platforms)

Data Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete it at any time by:

Deleting individual entries from the History tab in the app
Resetting all data from the Settings tab (this restarts the app from scratch)
Uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data from your device
iOS If iCloud sync is enabled, also disable it and remove the iCloud data from your device's Settings › [Your name] › iCloud

Children's Privacy

Countrol is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. The app tracks substances including alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, and is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
